Battle of Flowers Santo Tomás 

The battle of flowers of Santo Tomás, popularly known as Santoto, is a festivity in the colombian caribbean, alluding to the carnival of Barranquilla. This is held annually in the Santo Tomás Municipality one day after the Guacherna night parade in the city of Barranquilla.



HISTORY

Since 1977, the Santo Tomas Intermunicipal Carnival has been held in this Atlantic municipality. In it, the different municipalities of the Atlántico department are integrated, around the legitimate representation of Atlantic folklore and the popular manifestation with the participation of hundreds of comparsas, dances, cumbiambas and individual and collective costumes.

This autochthonous manifestation was elevated to the category of "Departmental Carnival" by the Assembly of the Department of Atlántico through Ordinance No. 00060 of November 15, 1995. By Law 1353 of September 8, 2009, they were declared Cultural Heritage of the Nation, the Departmental Carnival and the Intermunicipal Reign of Santo Tomás, in the Department of Atlántico.
